In this episode, abstract artist Audrey Barcio invites six current and former students to share their thoughts on the word apocalypse, and to collaborate on the creation of their Apocalypse Mixtape. Audrey is an Assistant Professor at Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana. Her work mobilizes universal symbology rooted in the language of the early abstractionists to negotiate the heritage of abstraction as it intersects with the tools of the virtual industrial age. She received her BAE from Herron School of Art and Design, her MFA from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, attended the Pont-Aven School of Contemporary Art in Brittany, France, and completed a Vermont Studio Center residency in 2017. She is a 2019 Pollock - Krasner Foundation Grant recipient. Recent solo exhibitions include Syracuse University, New York, the Las Vegas Government Center Rotunda, and Tube Factory Artspace in Indianapolis. IG: @audreybarcio

Victoria Bacon, a Visual Communications major at Ball State. Inspired by culture and fashion, Victoria's goal is to explore different mediums and incorporate them into her design. IG: @victoria.elizb

Nick May, a painting-centric, intermedia visual artist who’s portraits investigate queerness, community, collaboration and social justice. May is currently studying to receive their Bachelor of Fine Arts with a concentration in Painting at Ball State University. IG: @tickgay

AJ Simmons, a storyboard artist and writer interested in all kinds of stories, especially ones in personal growth and identity. AJ has a nonstop attitude to motivate in constantly trying new projects. IG: @ajmccoolguyart

Lillian McClung, a 5th year senior at Ball State University. Lilly will be graduating in December with a BFA in ceramics and a BA in art history with a minor in German, and is currently looking to continue her education in art history with a goal to become a curator. IG: @potterybylilly

Brianna Cole, a junior pursuing a BFA at Ball State University. Brianna's concentration is animation and she aspires to work in the innovative and growing field of medical animation. She is currently a freelance illustrator and has been working on using art as a tool for social activism. IG: @bee.zknees

Emmanuel Guerra, a Senior at Ball State University receiving his BFA in Printmaking. Emmanuel's current work is heavily driven by the concept of embracing, whether the physical act, emotional attachment, or other.
