In this episode, sound artist Alan Nakagawa shares his thoughts on the word apocalypse, and the songs he would put on his Apocalypse Mixtape. Alan’s interdisciplinary studio practice occasionally incorporates video, sculpture, drawing, painting, performance, food and most recently perfumes. He has combined his passion for audio recording, visual arts, archiving, hidden cultural memory and the mechanism of listening into a robust and eclectic art career. He has been the Artist in Resident for the Pasadena Buddhist Temple through Side Street Projects since 2019. He is the host of VISITINGS Radio Show, a podcast about artists who practice public engagement. He received a Masters of Fine Arts from University of California Irvine and a Bachelors of Fine Arts from Otis/ Parsons School of Art and Design. You can find him at
